Zambia will be the first country to host the first UABA Blockchain Summit. Ranked 21sth out of 54 African countries on the 2019 Mo Ibrahim Index of African Governance, Zambia has a reputation for political stability.
The lower middle income country is also ranked 85/190 on the World Bank Ease of Doing Business index 2020, the world's 7th largest copper producer, and one of the fastest growing countries of the last decade .
Zambia is one of Africa's most rewarding safari destinations. Best known as the home of Victoria Falls, this southern African nation boasts the world-class South Luangwa, Lower Zambezi and Kafue among its roster of 20 national parks. According to UNCTAD's 2021 World Investment Report, FDI flows into Zambia declined from USD 548 million in 2019 to USD 234 million in 2020, following the global economic crisis triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic. In the

About the Summit
The summit themed, “Shaping the future of Blockchain in Africa”, will be an open platform to understand what blockchain technology can do, and to display that Africa is actually ready for business and blockchain adoption.
The event will host about 50 speakers across Africa and the rest of the world, and 1000 delegates at the world class Bonanza Resort & Hotel, Lusaka. It is slated to be an annual feature event.
Among the notable speakers expected to grace the event will be the Vice President of Zambia Mutale Nalumango, the Minister of Technology and Science (MOTS) Felix Mutati, Yaliwe Soko, Chairperson of UABA, Tumelo Ramaphosa, founder & CEO at Studex Group, Solomon Mwamba, CEO at Majestic Coin Ltd, and John Lombela, CEO & Founder at Axalio.
UABA, MOTS, Blink and Majestic Coin have further partnered on the Blockchain Summit to provide a platform for blockchain platforms, business and regulators to share ideas and showcase the technology. And create opportunities for partnerships and networks.
Among activities that will take place at the three-day events are panel discussions, with topics such as, Introduction of NFT marketplace and the NFT collectors club. Exhibits from operators in the blockchain space. And the Blockchain Awards Ceremony to be given to individuals and organizations who have achieved exceptional things in the blockchain space.
